Technology Requirements
Read Meta School use Google Workspace for Education which includes Gmail account, a remote learning platform, a video meeting app, a cloud drive and a set of file editors, all the technology to provide an enhanced experience for our students. The below outlines our recommended hardware requirements.

Chromebooks laptops are designed for cloud learning and are developed for daily online learning in Google Workspace apps.
Read Meta School of Excellence would recommend all students to use a Chromebook for a seamless education experience using Google Workspace. We also offer the complete management of the device through Google Workspace providing the extra security and policies. This provide parents the reassurance that their child is secure when they working on a device. Meta School would cover the costs for all Google device management policies.
Through our partnership with C-leaning, Parents can purchase a Chromebook at a discounted rate through a dedicated parent purchase portal.
Making the web safer for students
Parents who opt to purchasing a Chromebook will be offered Securly web filtering for their child home browsing safety for free. Meta School take student digital security serious and want to provide parents the extra support in keeping them safe.
Using Securly we keep students safe on all devices, with Securly’s signature cloud-based web filter. Our safeguarding team get full visibility into online activity, download or email reports, and receive notifications for flagged content with the most sophisticated AI engine in student safety
Minimum Configuration
The following lists minimum requirements that allow for network connectivity and other basic functions if you don’t use a Google Chromebook. If you are planning on purchasing a new computer, please use the recommended configurations.

Monitor/Display 19.5″ wide screen monitor / 15″ laptop screen
Additional notes
Mobile Devices We are currently not supporting mobile devices when using the Google Workspace.
Apple Mac Computers We recommend you use a Chromebook or a Windows PC, however, Apple Mac computers can be used. We are obliged to make our users aware that we are unable to support Apple Mac computers as fully as a Chromebook computers.
Internet Connection We recommend a minimum Internet download speed of 10 Mbps.
Printer and Scanner We recommend that students have access to a printer and scanner for school work as some subjects require the printing and scanning of class exercises and exams.
Tablet Computers Tablet computers, including iPads and Android, are not supported with our system.
Sound All setups will require speakers and a microphone. We recommend the use of a headset which combines both headphones and microphone.
Software Requirements
An office package Microsoft Office is recommended. Students will have access to the online versions of Google Workspace apps whilst they are attending the school. These apps can perform the majority of tasks needed for school work but do have limitations compared to the installed versions.
A PDF viewer Adobe Reader is recommended.
Internet browser – Google Chrome (v70.0 and above) is recommended.
